NOT-YET-FORTY

A suspected thief was today found having broken into room 28, in lower ground Hostel L, allegedly with intentions to burgle.

The suspect was reportedly found by the occupant of the room, Sharleen, who was taking a shower when the alleged break-in took place.

Sharleen claims to have locked the door before going to the wash-rooms only to find the alleged assailant going over her closet upon her return, after which she grabbed him and screamed for help.

The suspect however managed to escape, leaving behind a bag, which is reported to have contained several bunches of keys, a book, a stripped sweater top, an army-like cap, a sharp metallic object and a laptop, which is alleged to have been stolen from room LG 012 of the same hostel.

Three occupants of the said room declined to record statements at the security office claiming that this was the third break-in into their room with no action having been taken in previous cases.

The suspect, whom is alleged to be a resident of Hostel G, is said to be still at large, with his roommates who were taken in for questioning aiding in investigations. The security office has however assured students of their safety, saying that today’s incident should not be a cause for alarm.
